On July 23, Vice Minister of Commerce and Deputy China International Trade Representative Yu Jianhua and Vice Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan Kairat Torebayev co-chaired the eleventh meeting of the China-Kazakhstan Sub-committee on Trade and Economic Cooperation by video. The two sides exchanged in-depth views on strengthening cooperation in epidemic prevention and control, medical and health care, and steadily promoting bilateral trade and economic cooperation.

Yu Jianhua said that China is willing to work with Kazakhstan to implement the important consensus reached by President Xi Jinping and President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on the phone about jointly fighting the epidemic and promoting pragmatic cooperation, to keep the fundamentals of China-Kazakhstan economic cooperation and trade stable and upgrade bilateral pragmatic cooperation. China is willing to strengthen cooperation in epidemic prevention and control, medical and health care with Kazakhstan, steadily resume bilateral projects, ensure that trade channels between the two countries are smooth as soon as possible, speed up the negotiation and signing of the China-Kazakhstan Intergovernmental Economic Cooperation and Trade Plan, jointly promote the development of the China-Kazakhstan Horgos International Border Cooperation Center, and deepen cooperation along the whole agricultural industry chain. China stands ready to import more high-quality agricultural products from Kazakhstan. Taking the opportunity of signing the new version of China-Kazakhstan Investment Protection Agreement, we will continue to optimize business environment, strengthen investment and economic and technological cooperation, and push China-Kazakhstan economic cooperation and trade to a new level.

Kairat Torebayev thanked China for its strong support to Kazakhstan in fighting the epidemic. Kazakhstan is willing to communicate closely with China, improve customs clearance efficiency at ports, deepen e-commerce cooperation, expand exports of Kazakhstan's competitive products to China, and deepen agricultural, investment and economic and technological cooperation between the two countries. Kazakhstan stands ready to actively consider the participation of Chinese enterprises in the development of "Digital Kazakhstan", promote the healthy development of China-Kazakhstan Horgos International Border Cooperation Center, and actively align the new economic policy of the Bright Road and the Belt and Road Initiative.
