Yu Jianhua, Deputy Minister of Commerce and Deputy China International Trade Representative, and Chervyakov, Minister of Economy of Belarus, Co-Chaired the Fifth Meeting of the Sub-Committee on China-Belarus Economic and Trade Cooperation

On the afternoon of October 30, Yu Jianhua, Vice Minister of Commerce and Deputy China International Trade Representative, and Chervyakov, Minister of Economy of Belarus, co-chaired virtually the fifth meeting of the Sub-Committee on China-Belarus Economic and Trade Cooperation. Snopkov, First Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. The two sides had an in-depth exchange of views on continuing to jointly strengthen pragmatic cooperation in the context of the pandemic and other issues.

Yu Jianhua noted that in recent years, China and Belarus have achieved positive results in economic and trade cooperation, with bilateral trade expanding, investment and economic and technical cooperation advancing steadily, economic assistance projects benefiting people's livelihoods, and financial and credit support increasing. Last June, the presidents reached a consensus on continuously deepening Belt and Road cooperation during a telephone conversation. The two sides should earnestly implement the instructions of the two presidents, strengthen coordination, promote international cooperation on pandemic response; promote the high-quality development of bilateral trade, further expand investment and financing cooperation, create favorable conditions for the liberalization and facilitation of trade and investment between the two countries; and continue the implementation of economic and technical assistance projects.

Snopkov and Chervyakov said that China is the third largest trading partner of Belarus, and there are bright prospects for China-Belarus cooperation. The Belarusian side attaches great importance to cooperation with China and is willing to further strengthen cooperation in various practical fields with the Chinese side.

After the meeting, the two sides signed the minutes of the meeting.
